Training Season

Posted in Uncategorized by metaljaybird on December 17, 2009

I have my bike on the trainer.  Rode it hard for about 15 minutes before I had to perform some upgrade work on a client’s Exchange server.  As indicated in my most recent post, I’m not much for winter riding.

Since I’ve been off the bike for most of November and December, I’m definitely getting soft.  I don’t know if a trainer is a good replacement for the streets, but it is better than just sitting around all winter.

So, while I’ll be safe from inattentive drivers, I’ll have to overcome the sheer boredom of staring at a wall.

I used to take winters off and do trainer thing. I would put Tour De France Videos on and race with the pros . One good thing about taking a few months off is you really enjoy it when you get back on in the Spring.

Get this. I got a flat. On the trainer. Yep. Only I could do that! So I went for a jog last night.

I guess the burning smell was the side of my wheel rubbing against the trainer…

    D’oh!

The weather was great today. Have you been riding? I’ve been riding at least twice a week in the begining of the Winter but have been on and off sick lately. I guess I needed some rest. I know I could have facebooked you but I wanted to keep this blog alive:)

did I see you crossing 46 near parsippany yesterday?

Sadly, I did not ride yesterday. The ironic thing is that I need a second car to enable to ride in more often this year (client visits, etc.).

So, when I can, I ride to work, after work, or before work.
